NIAGARA FALLS BRIDGE COMMISSION ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT: LINDA MCAUSLAND APPOINTED BY THE PREMIER OF THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO - FEBRUARY 12, 2014

The Commissioners of the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Linda McAusland to the Board of Commissioners, effective immediately.  The addition of Ms. McAusland fills a vacant seat on the eight person board, which is made up of four residents of the United States and four residents of Canada.  Ms. McAusland was appointed to the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission by the Premier of the Province of Ontario, Kathleen Wynne.  Read More...

 

NIAGARA FALLS BRIDGE COMMISSION ELECTS 2014 OFFICERS - FEBRUARY 6, 2014  

LEWISTON, NEW YORK - At its Annual General Meeting, the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission (NFBC), the bi-national entity that owns and operates the Rainbow, Whirlpool Rapids and Lewiston-Queenston Bridges between Canada and the United States, elected its slate of officers for 2014. Ernest K. Smith, ON, was elected Chairperson, and Kathleen L. Neville, NY, was elected Vice-Chairperson. Kenneth E. Loucks, ON, was elected Secretary, and Russell G. Quarantello, NY, was elected Treasurer.  Frank Soda, NY, Janice A. Thomson, ON, and Thomas G. Pryce, NY, comprise the rest of the NFBC board.  Read more...

 

TOLL RATE CHANGE EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1, 2013 - October 25, 2013 

LEWISTON, NY/QUEENSTON, ON – The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission (NFBC) today announced a series of toll rate changes for passenger and commercial vehicles at the Rainbow, Whirlpool-Rapids, and Lewiston-Queenston Bridge spans, effective November 1, 2013.  This change represents a $.25 toll increase for cars and toll increases for trucks ranging from $.25 to $3.50. It is the first rate update implemented at the NFBC crossings since 2007. Read More...

But it is the bridges that actually bring most of them here. 

No other single factor contributes more to tourism growth - indeed the export trade economy overall - than the NFBC's three monumental linkages of concrete and steel. Niagara Falls crossings rank second only to Kennedy International as the busiest port of entry between the U.S. and Canada.
