WIDE LOAD RESTRICTIONS – Canada Bound at Lewiston-Queenston Bridge

April 8, 2026 - Restrictions temporarily lifted

LEWISTON, NY – LEWISTON, NY – The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission (NFBC) wishes to advise commercial drivers that the

previously scheduled wide load restrictions for westbound travel to Canada, originally planned for April 6, 2026 through approximately May 13, 2026, have been postponed until further notice.

At this time, wide load movements may resume under the following conditions:

  • Truck Loads Programs (TLPs) may be submitted with crossing dates no more than two (2) weeks in advance
  • All applications must be submitted a minimum of 48 hours prior to the requested crossing date

Operators are asked to plan accordingly and communicate this update to drivers and dispatch teams.

Further updates will be provided once a revised construction schedule and any associated restrictions are confirmed.

Truck loads program information

The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission has the responsibility to maintain the operational and structural integrity of the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge.

Any vehicle that exceed the following dimensions must complete a Truck Loads Program (TLP) and submit to the NFBC at least 48 hours prior to intended crossing date.

1.) OVERALL WIDTH:     11′ wide and over
2.) OVERALL HEIGHT:   15′
3.) GROSS WEIGHT:      Over 130,000lbs
4.) OVERALL LENGTH:  60′ and over (Maximum length is dependent upon width)

ALL TRUCK LOADS PROGRAM (TLP) APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE INTENDED CROSSING DATE
